NCLB is "remedies from above imposed upon the excluded." from "Blessed Unrest" pp 179.
NCLB is nothing more than a system of law and regulation insuring that established structures remain in place. It is also a direct measure of the mistrust between politicians and the people they are elected to serve. Only the very few in current political or financial favor are "qualified" to dictate the what and how of education.
Access to knowledge and application of same has moved far down the age brackets. Children need guidence and support, not dictates and tests.
