Amelia Clune
NYC Educator
I have worked in New York City schools as a classroom teacher, a literacy specialist and an administrator; and in the process have discovered the many challenges that face an educational community, as well as the joys of seeing our young scholars flourish. Experience has taught me that education is about the formation of a whole child; this means that, as educators, we are always oriented towards supporting our students in their quest to realize their inner harmony, and to discover their intrinsic self-worth. I have developed an appreciation for the importance of a well-rounded philosophy of education – one which recognizes, for example, the need to shape an aesthetic environment that fosters play and nurtures creativity.
