Bridget Suvansri
Teacher and Learning Facilitator
Bridget Suvansri was named a 2017 Distinguished Teacher for Greenwich Public School District. She teaches English Language Arts and an interdisciplinary Seminar course in the Advanced Learning Program (ALP) at Eastern Middle School in Greenwich, Connecticut. A teacher for the past 19 years, she has been rated as Exemplary by the town of Greenwich and Highly Qualified by the state of Connecticut in both English Language Arts and Social Studies. Bridget is also the Sixth Grade Team Leader and a member of the school’s technology committee.
Bridget strives to foster real-world connections via literature that crosses cultures and genres, research, discussion, debate, letter and editorial writing. She always aims to improve her teaching practice and raise the level of challenge for her students, while providing frequent and effective feedback. Her students have earned either first or second place in the nation for 10 of the past 12 years in the Wordmaster national analogy competition.
Bridget earned a Bachelors of Science in Education from West Chester University, a Master of Arts in Education from Sacred Heart University and her 6th year certificate. The mother of two boys, she has traveled extensively. She actively practices yoga and has taught martial arts and earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
