Daniel Goleman, Ph.D., is the author of the 1995 international best-seller, Emotional Intelligence. Dr. Goleman cited a wealth of research on the brain to support the idea that such skills as self-control, getting along with others, perseverance, and self-motivation -- emotional intelligence -- may be more important than IQ in determining overall lifelong success. He also demonstrated that such skills can be taught, especially during childhood. He also is the author of Working with Emotional Intelligence.
