Dave Ferrero
Senior Program Officer, Education, at the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation
Dave Ferrero has devoted over two decades to public education in a variety of roles, including classroom teaching, education policy development and advocacy, professional development, scholarship and grantmaking. Dave currently serves as the Paul G. Allen Foundation’s education specialist, leading or advising on a range of projects that touch on education in some way. His career prior to the Allen Foundation includes the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he served as a Senior Program Officer for Education, and the Massachusetts Department of Education, where he helped design and implement alternative teacher certification pathways. He began his career as an English and social studies teacher for a public high school near Chicago while working nights as a reporter for a metro area newspaper. He holds a BA from the University of Redlands and an Ed.D. in administration, planning and social policy from Harvard University
