A mom of three, serving as president of an elementary home and school association (recently recognized as parent group of the year) and this year, also taking on the role of president at our middle school HSA. I regularly participate in educational chats on Twitter, and am one of the co-moderators of #PTchat (parent-teacher chat) on Wednesday's at 9pm ET. I am one of the original organizers of #ParentCamp; an un-conference that provides a forum for conversations similar to those found on #PTchat, to happen face-to-face between parents, educators (and this year) students.
My passion definitely lies in engaging every family not just in the school, but in their child's education. I have co-presented on the use of technology and social media in engaging families at national conferences, and share those same ideas with our local parent groups and those I meet online.
