Jessica Young
Developmental Psychologist and Research Scientist
Jessica Mercer Young, Ph.D., is a developmental psychologist and Senior Research Scientist at the Education Development Center. A former preschool teacher, Dr. Young is dedicated to providing equitable learning opportunities for all children, particularly those traditionally underrepresented in STEM. Her work is at the intersection of developmental science and early childhood education, investigating the factors that promote young children’s academic success. She currently co-leads a body of work called Young Mathematicians (YM) that is centered on games and problem-solving activities that support children’s early STEM literacy.
