I grew up in Chicago and stared my teaching career in Rock Point, Arizona on the Navajo reservation. That experience opened my eyes to not just the disparities we normally keep in mind, but how poorly resources are allocated for native peoples. From there, I moved back to Galesburg, Illinois where I attended college to teach. I fell in love with teaching all over again when I saw the joy that quality teachers, well planned activities and social justice could bring a community that were economically disenfranchised. From 2013-2015 I served as an English Medium Teacher and head of English Teachers at a government boys school. After time at a charter school on Chicagos west side, I am delighted to be dedicating my time and efforts to EduColor and the Academy for Global Citizenship.
