Kara McPhillips

Kara McPhillips is an English teacher at Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. She teaches freshman English as well as elective seminars including Music in Literature and Language, Identity, and Power. She has taught in Oregon, Washington, and Pennsylvania for 13 years. Prior to teaching, Kara wrote arts reviews and previews for a Washington, DC–based newspaper. In addition to teaching and writing, Kara is a songwriter and has self-released three albums.
