Kevin Wong
Professor at Monroe College, Lecturer and PhD Candidate at NYU, Advocate for Multilingual and Multicultural Education
Kevin Wong is a researcher and teacher of multilingual and multicultural education. He seeks educational equity for underserved populations, especially as their academic trajectories are negatively affected by language education. Originally from Hong Kong, Kevin considers himself a Third Culture Kid (TCK) and writes about the importance of leveraging bilingual education to foster cultural identity in the classroom. He draws from his experience as an elementary school teacher, a researcher of multilingual and multicultural issues, and from his upbringing as a biracial, trilingual speaker.
