Sarah Elia

English as a New Language Teacher

Sarah Elia is a past president of New York State Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages. She has written for publications including The New York Times and Education Week. She teaches multilingual learners at Saugerties Central School District in New York State, and adjuncts at Bard College, the State University of New York at New Paltz, and Chongqing University of Education in China. She is also a flutist, having performed as a concerto competition winner with the American Symphony Orchestra.
