I have been a high school psychology teacher for the past 9 years in the south suburbs of Chicago. I earned my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). My research centers on teacher education and preparing secondary teachers (history, mathematics, science) for disciplinary literacy instruction. I also teach future educators at the university level
