Tim Scheu
Engagement Manager for Ashoka's Re-imagine Learning Partnership with the LEGO Foundation
I'm a son, a husband and a father to three little girls. I'm profoundly impacted by the experiences of those around me and seek social and environmental justice by adding capacity to entrepreneurial, systems-changing initiatives.
Most recently, my focus has been Ashoka's Re-imagine Learning Partnership with the LEGO Foundation - an effort which demonstrates the connection between structured play, classrooms, and the development of "21st Century Skills." Over the course of the partnership, we are driving collaboration and discussion among a global network of ed practitioners, mapping the principles behind breakthrough interventions, and resourcing novel, high-impact approaches that drive learning through play. Prior to my work with Ashoka, I served as Innovation Manager for International Bridges to Justice, where I conceptualized and managed collaborative competitions specific to the human rights sector. From 2001 to 2005, I served as Communications Manager for GlobalGiving, where I helped launch, publicize, and populate an online marketplace for international philanthropy. I have also worked as a Farber Intern for the Roberts Enterprise Development Fund (REDF), a leader for Overland’s rocky mountain service and backpacking summer program, and a consultant for AES Sonel investigating rural electrification opportunities in Cameroon. I have BAs in English Literature and Political Science from Bucknell University and an MBA from Duke University, where I was a Center for Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) Social Sector Scholar.
