Tracy Edwards
Fifth-Grade Teacher
Tracy has 20 years of experience and teaches at Odyssey Charter Schools in Las Vegas, where she also develops curriculum for English language arts and science. Tracy is a 2019–20 Teach Plus Nevada Policy Fellow; she works closely with other teacher leaders, school officials, and legislators advocating for systemic change by identifying, examining, and making recommendations around educational policies. Tracy has held various positions in the public school sector as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and department chair. Tracy has served as lead curriculum designer and professional development specialist for DePaul University’s Digital Youth Network in Chicago, where she assisted in the design and implementation of an online-writing curriculum for elementary schools throughout the city.
Tracy is a board member at Las Vegas chapter of the United Negro College Fund and serves as a mentor for the College of Southern Nevada’s Nevada Promise Scholarship program. Tracy earned her EdD from Pepperdine University in learning technologies and published her dissertation, titled The Impact of Online Professional Development on Teacher Classroom Practices.
