I grew up in the Bay Area and attended Stanford University as an undergraduate. In college, I taught through the Breakthrough Collaborative program in San Francisco, worked for the U.S. Department of Education, and helped out on then-Senator Obama's education policy committee during his 2008 presidential run. I then spent a year studying education policy and politics at Cambridge University. Afterwards, I came home to California to join Teach For America. I taught secondary English in public schools in both Southern California and in the Bay Area. I now support teachers in Richmond, California.
