Middle Grades Humanities Teacher
Currently an 8th grade Humanities teacher in New York City, Valencia facilitates her class on the foundation of intrinsic motivation and critical thinking. She uses writing prompts that allow her students to analyze, evaluate, and reflect on contemporary matters and their connections to historical events. Valencia is publishing her first set of memoirs on classroom, culture, and mental health in June of 2016. She currently blogs on her own website, ValenciasGarden.com.
